Week 30 {"Now Do The Opposite"}

Last week we thought about our favorite genre of photography and what stylistic elements we love. This week, the assignnent is to shoot something that would be our least favorite choice. Asking a stranger to pose for me - portraiture -- would probably be the most opposite of my preferred genre -- family photojournalism -- but I'm not really up for that right now. I feel like I have photographed genres I don't care as much about while using my preferred styles -- bright, cheerful, colorful, and realistic -- several times before though. Particularly when I go on photoshoots with my local photography club. Sometimes I go just to hang out with other photographers, even if the subject isn't that interesting. You might say I'm engaging in "social photography." :) Here's an example. I do care about Richmond, but I wasn't really wanting to photograph it from across the river. I just wanted to participate in a photowalk and pick up my neglected DSLR at the beginning of June. But this is warm, colorful, and realistic just like all my pictures I love.
