Day 095 Caroline's regular dance teacher was absent today so her class was invited to attend the level 2 class the following hour. And, thinking of this week's theme -- reflections -- and this month's theme -- through the glass -- I brought my camera. I wasn't able to get any really good pictures, but after processing I kind of like this one. They were in two lines, going back and forth across the room doing different dance moves. I'm looking through the one way window, which is reflecting the office behind me.
Day 082 The Happy Scientist at the VaHomeschoolers conference http://vahomeschoolers.org/conference/ acting like he's in a movie, with stunt gel and a fire on his hand, and demonstrating energy transformation. :D

Day 078 Today we attended the Garry Krinsky's show, Toying With Science, http://www.garrykrinsky.com/page1.htm and Rhiannon was chosen as a volunteer from the audience. He taught her to balance this peacock feather on her nose and then gave it to her. When we got home she practiced some more.
Day 064 Long Wait in the Airport | When we arrived at the airport at about 5 a.m. we learned that our flight had been canceled because it was supposed to go through Chicago, which I guess was covered in very deep snow. They gave us a few options and we decided to take the plane that would leave at 3 p.m. because it would get us back to the same airport where our car was parked in Virginia, and we figured a long wait early in the day would be more tolerable than a long wait later in the day. Fortunately, we had electronics and chocolate, so the long wait wasn't too bad. ;) Caroline and Ian caught up on sleep and I really enjoyed the Chinese Chicken Salad I had for lunch. We even got invited on the plane early when the lady saw we have a still-somewhat-young child and we got to sit together. The short layover in Denver made the two airplane rides shorter and when we got in to Dulles at 1 a.m. we were tired (or already asleep in the cases of Caroline and Ian) but okay. The worst part of the trip may have been the slow drive home through swirling snow, but we made it and were in bed by 4 a.m., about 24 hours after the alarm had gone off in the hotel the previous day. Whew!
Day 060 Watching Seals and Pelicans | Ian was tired but he was interested in seeing the animals that have taken over what used to be called The Children's Cove in La Jolla. Just to the left of the frame, the beach is full of lounging seals and you can see the rock has become a favorite place for pelicans.
Day 043 Where's My Photo Mojo? I've hardly picked up my camera in over a week. :( This morning I tried but this is all I managed. Well, at least it's pretty well exposed and processed. Tomorrow I'm going to jump back into my photography. It's the 13th and I'm doing a Thirteen on the Thirteenth personal project this year! There, I've announced it publicly. If you don't see my thirteen pictures tomorrow, feel free to nag me. Thanks! :)
