Day 326 (Nov 22) Rhiannon is applauding Caroline's singing.
Day 325 (Nov 21) These are the notes I took while 2014 was exporting yesterday and I was watching a B&H video-recorded class on YouTube called Getting Started in Lightroom5 by Tim Grey. He said he wished he could get to people before they import any photos, to help them set up Lightroom well first. How timely, since I'm starting all over with a clean slate! The notes you can read in this image refer to his suggested way to use the star ratings. He stars all his keepers with 1 star in a first pass. Then he goes through them a couple more times, upgrading the stars for worthy pics. It makes sense to me and I think I'm going to start doing it that way. I have hardly been using stars at all; definitely not consistently. This start-over is inspiring me to improve my photography workflow and I'm excited to become more efficient and organized.
Day 325 (Nov 21) I've been sitting here a lot in the last couple of days. First it took 6 hours EACH for my 2013 and 2014 photo collections to export from the old corrupt Lightroom catalog. Then I went through all my photo folders to check for organization. Good thing! I discovered three weeks missing from December 2009! I have no idea why, and that bothers me. But I got them back from Smugmug within an hour and a half (which would have been less if there hadn't been the issue with downloading the videos, which didn't work right when downloaded with the whole gallery and I had to download them individually). Now I've opened up a new catalog and set the settings the way I want them. To set my import settings I had to have some photos to import -- hence these!
